Happy Earth Day/ sf

Wally, last night Will and I celebrated Earth Day in grand style by taking in Disney's new film, "Oceans". I can't remember the last time I was spellbound by a G-rated movie. "Oceans" is nothing short of phenominal. You and the kids will LOVE it. Happy Earth Day.

TwoFab/LA - Best Mom Ever!

Dunkle, i spent the day at a Magic Castle today. it wasn't exactly Carcassone! but by using the Polarize App i have managed to make it appear much more mysterious than it actually is. i was such a good mom and entertained myself by taking pictures while my children and their friend spent over two hours using up over 400 tokens, amassing thousands of tickets that they then turned in for a minimal amount of cheap toys and candy. they had the time of their lives and i enjoyed watching.

The Magic Castle is in Sherman Oaks and also has mini golf and a batting cage. the App is Polarize. now that i've got this down i want to know what App you used in Hawaii for the postcards that you made that can also go on Facebook?

My Latest Production - Tween Birthday Party

Eat, laugh, shop, laugh, laugh, laugh. based on the laughter and the energy and excitement that went in to the shopping i have once again produced a terrific birthday party for Gracie. Dunkle, they would have done you proud with the bona fide shopping frenzy that ensued! the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

i booked the kitchen table at the Santa Monica Bocca di Beppo

simultaneous sipping of italian sodas

they provided the cake - you know i love easy

each kid had $15 to spend between Forever 21 and Sephoria on the Third Street Promenade

we shut down the Promenade!

Extreme Laser Tag/LA

my friend, Cathy, who always thinks of the best parties, gifts, camps etc for kids arranged for her son's laser tag birthday party to be located at Paintball USA in Santa Clarita (don't let that scare you it took us under 45 min. to get there from W.L.A.). the boys AND dads had a blast. so did the big sisters. i even played for a while, though after forgetting to take off my safety and losing all my "lives" i decided to move on to party photographer.

here's some of the adults playing paint ball on another field. they have 10 different kinds of environments you can play on.

after cake and ice cream our little warriors ended the day swapping Pokemon cards.

More Fun With Kids/LA

Dunkle, now that the weather is not so reliable we've had to find indoor fun. i always forget about bowling. it's always good for a belly laugh or two. it's also good practice for the ones in the family that aren't such good sports (he will go nameless! HA). we went to the old Pico Bowl-now AMF-in Santa Monica. i had a surprise birthday party there once. were you there? or had you moved already? the one where a CLOWN was invited. i HATE clowns.

new iPhone documents outing

dunkle, i know you took all those pics of The Sacred Place on your iPhone. so, having forgot my huge, expensive, fabulous Canon at home i whipped out the 'ole iPhone today when the kids and i went on our two museum excursion to the La Brea Tar Pits and LACMA.

Equipped in Jack Purcells from Theodore.

recent improvements definitely include the grounds here.

today i was so enamored with those mechanical displays. they must be as old as the fossils.

Lunch at LACMA put on by Patina. Los Angeles museums make me so much happier now that i can get good food. they also sell my favorite candy.

Chris Burden's "Street Lights".

exploring Richard Serra's "Band".

we also sped through the Pompeii exhibit at the 8 year olds' pace. he did stop long enough to quietly make mention of all the naked body parts he saw. we noted that there were probably dozens of penises in evidence.

Laugh Out Loud/ SF

Wally, today I'm definitely making up for lost blogging time over the summer. I just couldn't wait another day without sharing this with you. I don't know a parent out there who won't appreciate My First Dictionary . My First Dictionary marries wholesome Dick and Jane style illustrations with today's biting sarcasm. I could possibly be their biggest fan. Be sure to check them out. They are TwoFab!

Happy Easter From The Hood /SF

Wally here's a little something to go with your Downtown L.A. Art Walk. Greetings from the hood! The vast majority of NorCal families are exiting town in droves right about now...packing the kids, the dogs and the LandRovers with everything deemed absolutely necessary for the perfect Spring Break. We on the other hand, will be having a Stay-cation. A solid week of kids and candy. Joy. Look for my survival tips next week. Party on, girlfriend.
